Why Didn't Holocaust Victims Fight Back?

I saw this image on a friend's Facebook wall today which prompted me to think... and reply.

The Holocaust, despite a vocal handful of deniers, was a tragic and real event in world history.

While the image and caption here offer a warning to Americans that should be considered, it also portrays significant misconceptions about the Holocaust that should be dealt with.

First, six million people did not perish in the Holocaust. Over 11,000,000 died.

Second, holocaust survivors and their children take great exception to the notion that Jews (the largest, though not only, group of victims) did not fight back.

Along with the image I made this comment:

"ONLY parents should direct their children's medical care. Forced medication is NOT acceptable in a truly free society."

That's still true today in most states. In fact, when it comes to law enforcement, no federal or state agency has authority in the county unless the Sheriff permits it.

This makes your vote for Sheriff as critically important as your vote for President, Governor, Senator or Representative.

In today's anti-liberty, anti-gun climate, perhaps even more so.

That's because your local Sheriff may be your last lawful line of defense against unconstitutional laws enacted by Congress or your state legislature. Including those which infringe upon your Constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.

I've held off on this blog about the "gun control" debate for some time. But today I wish to open the subject by asking you a simple question: Do you love liberty?

Do these words from the Declaration of Independence stir your heart even today?

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Tell me, has liberty been reduced to an ancient ideal you give lip service to... an appeal to an archaic and nearly forgotten notion of a government run by free men, rather than men run by their government?

Or are you truly prepared to take any action needed to preserve liberty for yourself, your family and your posterity?

What happens when 47 out of 50 states secede from the United States?

Tens of thousands of "signatures" have been gathered on electronic petitions asking for the right for their state to peaceably withdraw from the union. All but three states have active petitions at last count.

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia already weighed in on the issue of secession a few years ago by directly stating "there is no right to secede."

Which Path Have You Chosen?

Crossroads
Every four years in America we celebrate "the changing of the guard." Or renewal of the same.

Last night our nation voted for more of the same.

Four more years of President Obama.

And not just more of the same in the White House. We also voted to maintain the deadlocked, split Congress status quo: a House controlled by Republicans and a Senate controlled by Democrats.

Which  tells me our country didn't take a single step away from the path towards disaster last night:

Can you spot the real socialist alternative?

Yesterday as I headed to the polls to vote in New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation Presidential primaries, I passed two interesting signs on a primary road I travel frequently.

Strategically placed along this busy road only a few doors apart were a large commercial sign promoting libertarian-leaning GOP candidate Ron Paul and a similarly large handmade sign on cloth promoting an organization called Socialist Alternative next to an Occupy Wall Street "We Are The 99%" sign.
